Injury

When did the first injury happen? My first year of basketball as a sophomore, I tore the ligament in my right ankle during practice in January.

What was going through your mind in that moment? I was freaking out in my head because my ankle was the size of an orange and state for swimming was about 3 weeks away.

How long were you out before being cleared to play? I played in a basketball game 3 days later and a swim meet the day after that. I then took some time off to rehab, but didn’t know the extent of my injury until track season when I was still having a decent amount of pain. I then got an MRI and realized my ligament had been torn the whole time.

What was involved in your recovery? I finished out the track season, and then took time off training for basketball and club swimming to rehab. I went to physical therapy and got a cortisone shot.
