Dr. Elliott received his undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Helena, then attended the University of Washington School of Medicine. A residency in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Chicago followed, as did a sports medicine fellowship at Cincinnati SportsMedicine.

An adjunct professor at Rocky Mountain College, Dr. Klepps is a clinical instructor for the Montana Family Practice Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship programs. Team physician for Rocky Mountain College, Montana State University-Billings, Billings Mustangs and Billings District II Football Teams, Dr. Klepps is a member of the Montana High School Association Medical Advisory Committee. He also provides outreach services for Roundup Memorial Hospital and Wheatland Memorial Hospital in Harlowton, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
